West Metro Hot Tub Fire

At 15:44 on December 28th, 2018 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched from JeffCom to a reported structure fire at 29 S. Indiana Pl. in unincorporated Jefferson County. Engine 6 reported smoke showing from the station. Engine 6 arrived to a 2-story with a hot tub on fire in the backyard, pulled a 1 3/4 in the offensive strategy. Engine 5 arrived and secured a water supply to Engine 6, and assigned as RIT. Engine 2 pulled a line to the front door and check for extension, and Medic 5 as medical group. District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha-Bravo side, and Tower 2 assigned to vent the front door. Crews got a quick knock on the fire that was located on the porch in the back of the house, and Command put the fire under control at 16:03. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
