West Metro Detached Garage Fire

At 12:28 on July 27th, 2018 JeffCom received multiple 911 calls of a garage fire on the corner of W. 10th Ave & Fenton St. in Lakewood, and was dispatched as a confirmed structure fire. West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 1 arrived on scene to a detached garage with heavy fire showing, and went into the offensive attack. Jeffcom notified Engine 1 that crews were working on a water main line in the immediate area. Medic 11 had to handjack 1000 foot of LDH to the nearest hydrant with assistance from multiple nearby construction workers. Crews got the fire out with no reported injuries. Lakewood Police Department closed down the street and the fire is under investigation.
