West Metro Structure Fire
At 14:55 on November 10th, 2018 JeffCom dispatched West Metro Fire Rescue Medic 11 and SAM 1 to a unknown medical problem in the 1600 block of Depew St. in Lakewood. Dispatch upgraded the call to a possible structure fire with 911 caller reporting smoke showing from a window of the complex. SAM 1 arrived to a 2-story multi-family residential structure with smoke showing in the offensive strategy. Engine 1 arrived and established their own water supply, and pulled a line in for fire attack with Medic 11. District 1 arrived and assumed command, Medic 1 assigned ladders on the Alpha side, Engine 16 arrived and pulled a 2nd line off Engine 1 on the Alpha side, and started primary search of the fire unit. Engine 3 arrived and assigned as RIT, Engine 2 secured the utilities, and Tower 2 split crews, and laddered the roof. SAM 1 advised that the patient from the fire unit needed medical attention, and crews checked the patent. Command requested additional medic to the scene, and crews got the fire under control within 20 minutes, and started overhaul. One patient was transported by Medic 16 to a local hospital with unknown injuries, no other injuries were reported and fire is under investigation.
