National Night Out 2018: Edwards

The 35th Annual National Night Out was held on August 7th, 2018 throughout Colorado including Edwards at Freedom Park, the community came out to enjoyed free food, meet with law enforcement and first responders, dunk a deputy’ in the dunk tank, tour the Classic Air Medical helicopter and tour emergency equipment including police, fire and medical. Some of the agencies that were on hand for the event were the Colorado State Patrol, Eagle County Sheriff, Eagle River Fire Protection District and Eagle County Paramedics. National Night Out a crime and drug prevention awareness with many communities hosting events in neighborhoods as in block parties, cookouts, parades, ice cream socials, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and more. The community is able to talk with police about crime-prevention efforts in their neighborhoods.
