The Sterling Fire Department held an open house and placed two new engines into service on March 3, 2018. The Department took delivery of twin HME pumpers last week. The new rigs, Engine 10 and Engine 12, hold 1000 gallons of water and a have a 1500 gpm pump. Firefighters wet down the new rigs, invited the community to help dry them off and pushed them into the apparatus bays at the station. Engine 11 will be used as the Department ‘s reserve. Old Engine 12 will be relocated to the training center for use as a training engine. The two new engines are should obtain their new graphics next week.
