West Metro Attic Fire

At 9:09 on August 15th, 2018 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 16 was dispatched out to a outside smoke investigation in the area of W. 35th Ave and Kendall St. Engine 16 arrived to smoke showing from a two-story single family residential structure, smoke from the eves and attic area and advised of a working fire. JeffCom dispatch upgraded the call to a confirmed structure fire at 9:14. Engine 16 entered through the front door for interior fire attack to the attic. Tower 2 arrived and started ventilation, and than assisted Engine 16 to access the attic space with Medic 1. Engine 17 established a water supply at W. 35th Ave. and Jay St. Medic 11 assigned as medical group and Engine 3 as RIT. District 2 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha-Bravo corner in the offensive strategy, and Sam 1 as Safety. Engine 1 pulled a second line in on the Bravo side, and Tower 8 set up ground ladders on the Alpha side. Crews were able to find a electrical problem and worked on overhaul. No injuries were reported.
