Arvada Structure Fire

At 11:16 on December 28th, 2018 JeffCom alerted Arvada Fire Protection District to a possible structure fire in the 4500 block of Field St. in Wheat Ridge. Engine 52 arrived to a four-plex with smoke showing, pulled a attack line for fire control and search & rescue in the offensive strategy, and secured their own water supply. Crews quickly extinguished the fire inside the unit. Tower 56 arrived and started ventilation and secured the utilities. The fire was put under control and out at 11:30. Tower 56 and Engine 51 assisted Engine 52 with salvage and overhaul. No injuries were reported, one dog passed away in the fire, and one dog survived. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
