Adams City House Fire
At 01:44 on January 20th, 2019 Adcom dispatched South Adams County Fire Department, Adams County Fire Rescue and Federal Heights Fire Department to a structure fire in the 4000 block of E. 71st Ave. in the Adams City area in Adams County. Dispatch advised units enroute that 911 caller reporting house on fire with flames showing. Ambulance 203 arrived on scene with a fully involved house on fire with flames and smoke showing on all sides. Ambulance 203 advising that they have 3 patients with smoke inhalation, and Battalion 21 requested 2 additional ambulances to the scene and strike a major incident tone. Truck 24 arrived to a small single story single family structure with a working fire with fire through the windows, and pulled a 1 3/4 line in for fire attack in the offensive strategy. Battalion 11 arrived and assumed command, Truck 14 arrived and established a water supply. Crews made entry on the Alpha-Bravo corner, and found extension into the attic area. Crews conducted a primary search with an all-clear, and fire was put under control after 02:00 and out at 02:15 with crews started overhaul. One patient was transported with unknown injuries, and reported that 2 family dogs did not make it. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
