Adams County House Fire
At 08:36 on September 30th, 2019 Adams County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire in the 2100 block of McDougal St. in Welby. Truck 14 arrived to a single family structure with smoke showing from the Alpha side, and a working basement fire. Truck 14 pulled a 1 3/4 line in for fire control in the offensive strategy, and command requested a major incident tone. Engine 71 arrived and established a water supply to Truck 14, and assisted Medic 71 with an attack line to the basement Charlie side. Medic 14 arrived and assigned as medical. Crews rescued one victim in the basement, and the patient was transported by Medic 14 to a local hospital with unknown injuries. Command requested additional medic to the scene, and Medic 72 arrived and assigned as medical rehab group. The fire was contained in the basement area, and crews started overhaul. Three family dogs were also rescued by firefighters, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
