Arvada Shed Fire

At 08:24 on October 23rd, 2019 Arvada Fire Protection District Engine 51 responded to a outside smoke investigation in the area of W. 60th Ave. & Otis St. Dispatch advised that 911 caller reported a shed was on fire, and Engine 51 advised dispatch that smoke was showing from W. 58th Ave. & Ralston Rd. and command upgraded the call to a 1st alarm structure fire. Engine 51 arrived in the 6000 block of Pierce St. to a one-story single-family residential with a shed on fire in the back of the structure extending into the home. Engine 51 established their own water supply and and pulled a 1 3/4 attack line in for search rescue and fire control in the offensive strategy. Battalion 51 arrived and assumed command, and assigned Truck 54 to pull a line off Engine 51 for primary search and fire control. Medic 51 set-up as rehab, and crews got control of the fire at 08:33 in an out-building, which extended into the vegetation and trees. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information provided by Arvada Fire Protection District.
