Arvada Garage Fire

At 21:21 on June 16th, 2019 Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a possible structure fire in the 6500 block of W. 69th Way. Jefferson County Communications Center Authority (Jeffcom) advised that 911 caller reporting smoke in the house and possibly coming from the garage. Battalion 51 arrived to a one-story single family structure with smoke showing from the roof line, assumed command in the offensive strategy. Truck 54 arrived to a working fire and assigned to search and rescue and fire control. Truck 54 established their own water supply, and pulled a line in on the Alpha side and made entry into the garage. Engine 51 assisted with the attack line, started search of the structure and checked for extension in the attic space. Engine 55 arrived and secured the utilities and Battalion 52 as safety. Engine 51 pulled a second line in the main structure with heavy smoke, and Engine 55 assigned to start ventilation. Crews got a quick knock on the fire in the garage area and started overhaul with no extension into the attic. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
