3rd Alarm Apartment Fire
At 22:22 on August 17th, 2019 Aurora Fire Rescue responded a structure fire at 17090 E. Adriatic Dr. Aurora 911 Emergency Communications advised multi 911 callers reporting an explosion with a bush on fire extending to the structure, and Aurora Police Department arrived and reported a fully-involved apartment fire. Battalion 2 arrived on scene to a 3-story multi-family structure with heavy fire from the Charlie side with smoke from the attic and eves, and requested additional units to the scene. Engine 8 arrived with heavy smoke and fire from the Charlie-Delta corner exterior, as well as a bush, and started an apartment lay for fire attack, and Ladder 6 started a primary search on Division 3. Engine 6 established a water supply to Engine 8, and pulled a back-up line. Engine 7 established their own water supply, and pulled a line in for fire attack, and Medic 105 staged for rehab. Engine 4 started search on Division 1 & Division 2, and crews found fire in the attic area. Ladder 6 went to the roof for vertical ventilation, and crews got the fire under control and out at 23:18. Five apartment units were impacted in all. No reported injuries and the cause is under investigation.
