Aurora Outside Apartment Fire

At 17:46 on July 29th, 2019 Aurora 911 Emergency Communications dispatched Aurora Fire Rescue to a possible structure fire at 56 S. Sable Blvd. Engine 2 arrived on scene to a 2-story apartment building with smoke showing from the roof line. Engine 5 established a water supply, Battalion 1 arrived and assumed command, and Truck 2 assigned as search. Engine 2 advised of an outside fire, that was ignited in the bushes below the eves which then extended onto and into the first story interior and second story exterior of the building. Truck 8 assigned with roof ops and check for extension in the attic, which proved negative. Battalion 2 arrived ans assigned as safety, and Tower 6 as RIC. Medic 109 set-up as rehab and crews got the fire knocked at 18:00. One patient, which refused medical but was taken to a local hospital by POV. The fire is under investigation.
