South Metro Condo Fire

At 12:46 a.m. on Monday April 29, 2019, MetCom alerted South Metro Fire Rescue to a reported multi-family structure fire at Highline Meadows Condos, located at 240 E. Highline Circle in Centennial. As multiple 911 calls came in, dispatchers upgraded the assignment to a confirmed response and additional companies were added. First arriving Ladder 12 found a large 3-story center hallway mansard style building with nothing showing and evacuation in progress. A 360 revealed a working balcony fire on the 3rd floor Bravo / Charlie corner, Ladder 12 stretched a 1.75” line for transitional attack and controlled the fire within seconds. The first line was left in place, then Ladder 12 and Medic 12 pulled a second 1.75” line to the interior 3rd floor fire attack and primary search. Battalion Chief 2 assumed command with Battalion 1 assisting with accountability and Safety 18 was assigned as the incident safety officer. Engine 15 was assigned to water supply and hand laid 100’ of LDH from the nearest hydrant to Ladder 12. Interior crews found no extension inside and overhaul was focused on the exterior balcony and mansard. The incident was placed under control within 20 minutes and fire out was declared a short time later. No injuries occurred and the cause is under investigation.
