West Metro Chimney Fire

At 15:06 on February 17th, 2019 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to reported structure fire in the 12200 block of W. Mississippi Ave. JeffCom advised that 911 caller reporting flames from the roof, and District 2 en route with smoke in the air from Garrison St. & Mississippi Ave. Engine 4 arrived on scene to a single story residential structure with smoke coming from the chimney area with quick attack and life safety in the offensive strategy. Engine 8 arrived and staged at S. Vivian St. & W. Ohio Circle for a water supply. Medic 4 assisted Engine 4 with fire attack and found active fire in the basement chimney, and checked for extension. Engine 2 arrived and assigned as RIT, and Tower 8 checked the roof and attic. Crews got the fire out quickly with no extension and crews started overhaul. No injuries were reported.
