West Metro Mobile Home Fire
At 19:08 on on April 13th, 2019 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a confirmed structure fire in the 1400 block of Allison St. at the Lakewood Village Mobile Home Park. Jeffcom advised multiple 911 calls reporting fire coming out of the windows and that power lines were on fire. Engine 1 en route reported heavy smoke in the air from W. 14th Ave & Wadsworth Blvd. Engine 1 arrived to a fully involved small single story mobile home, established their own water supply and pulled a 2 1/2 line in for fire attack. Medic 11 pulled a 2nd line in on the Bravo side exposure, Tower 2 started a primary search with VES (Vent-Enter-Search) with Engine 2 assisting. and Engine 3 was assigned as RIT. District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha-Delta corner and requested Xcel to the scene. Lakewood Police Department closed down W. 14th Ave. for fire operations. Crews treated one victim that was trapped and rescued by the Tower 2 crew from the bedroom window, and a second patient was treated behind the unit that was able to escape the fire, both were treated on scene and transported to a local hospitals with unknown injuries. Crews got the fire under control at 19:21 with no extension to any of the other mobile homes. Crews started an extended overhaul of the unit with the trailer a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
