At 20:24 on February 14th, 2019 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 1900 block of Upham St. JeffCom advised that 911 caller reporting smoke showing from a basement unit. Engine 1 arrived to a small single story structure with smoke showing from the garden level, and pulled in a 1 3/4” on the Alpha side in the offensive strategy with force entry, possible parties trapped and started primary search with Medic 1. Engine 3 arrived and secured the water supply at W. 19th Ave. & Vance St. to Engine 1. District 1 arrived and assumed command, assigned Tower 2 to assisted Engine 1, Medic 3 as medial group, and Engine 5 as RIT. Primary search of the structure was complete with an all clear, and crews found a small fire in the Bravo-Charlie corner the garden level unit of a fourplex, and quickly got the fire under control and out. No injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
