2nd Alarm Apartment Fire

At 01:32 on February 14th, 2019 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched by JeffCom to a structure fire at 220 Wright St. in Lakewood. Engine 6 arrived on scene to 3-story multi-family apartment building with a working fire on the Alpha side, with fire through the roof and heavy smoke and fire in the offensive strategy. Engine 6 secured their own water supply, Engine 2 arrived and used their deck gun for fire attack, and Tower 2 with ladders on the Alpha side and search. District 1 arrived and assumed command, assigned Engine 3 to assist Tower 2 with search, Medic 3 as Medical and assist with ground ladders on the Alpha side. Engine 2 pulled a second line in for fire attack, Engine 4 and Medic 4 assisted with a burn victim. Medic 4 transported one patient to a local hospital, and command requested 2 additional medics to the scene emergent. Crews worked heavy fire on the Charlie, and a 2nd alarm was struck at 01:53. Tower 8 assisted with fire attack on the Charlie side and Engine 5 assigned utilities. The fire was put under control at 02:22 and crews worked an extended overhaul and hot spots. American Red Cross was called to the scene for 9 displaced residents. Information from West Metro Fire Rescue that the fire damaged five apartments, and one resident was injured from the 2nd floor apartment, when they went back into the fire to get a family dog, which was safe. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

2nd Alarm: District 3, SAM 2, Engine 5, Engine 8, Rescue 10 & Air 14
