Loveland 2nd Alarm Fire
At 01:45 on December 10th, 2019 Loveland Fire Rescue Authority responded to a reported structure fire in a commercial occupancy at 2121 W. 8th St. Paramedic 221 arrived with heavy smoke and flames showing. Engine 3 arrived to a 2-story with heavy fire showing from the first floor on the Alpha side, and pulled a line in. Engine 2 established the water supply to Engine 3, Tower 6 assigned roof ops, and Rescue 2 with access. Crews located and removed one person from the structure, and transported to a local hospital. Battalion 1 arrived and upgraded to a 2nd alarm and requested additional ambulance to the scene. Crews got the fire under control and extinguished, and crews started an extensive overhaul. Berthoud Fire Protection District, Poudre Fire Authority and Windsor Severance Fire Rescue covered the district with the vacant LFRA stations. The occupant from the building did not survive from their injuries. The origin and cause of the fire or the official cause of death to the occupant is under investigation. A second person was also transported for evaluation to a local hospital and no injuries to firefighters were reported.
