Loveland Attic Fire

At 17:33 on May 5th, 2019 Loveland Fire Rescue Authority was dispatched out from Loveland Emergency Communications Center (LECC) to a residential structure fire in the 600 block of E. 7th St. in Loveland. Engine 1 arrived on scene to a small 2 story home with fire showing at the roof. Engine 1 confirmed a working attic fire and pulled a line for interior attack, and for incoming units to get a fog nail to the roof, established a water supply, and pull a second line. Battalion 1 arrived and assumed command in an offensive life risk. Crew 1 reported hitting the fire in the attic through the attic scuttle, crew 5 attacked the fire on the bravo side from the exterior, and Rescue 2 crew used a fog nail inside on the bravo side to hit the fire. Chief 2 reported he was with the lone occupant of the home and confirmed all occupants and animals were out of the home, command then changed to a property risk. The fire was declared under control at 18:19. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation. Berthoud Fire Protection District, Windsor-Severance Fire Rescue, Poudre Fire Authority, Loveland Canyon Battalion & off duty LFRA personnel staffed the district to maintain coverage for additional calls for service while crews worked to control the fire.
