South Metro House Fire
At 08:29 on September 17th, 2019 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to 6810 Hillridge Pl. in The Pinery after a neighbor saw smoke and called 911. First due Engine 43 sized up a small 2-story single family home with smoke showing from the eaves and upgraded the assignment to a working structure fire. Heavy smoke was encountered at the front door and Engine 43 advanced a 1 ¾” attack line to the second floor where they quickly knocked a bathroom fire. Engine 46 assisted Engine 43’s Engineer with a water supply and Medic 46 was assigned to primary search on the first floor. Battalion Chief 4 positioned across the street on the alpha side and assumed command in the offensive strategy. Safety 35 was assigned as incident safety officer; Med 1 was assigned as medical/rehab and Engine 184 completed a primary search of the basement. Engine 43’s primary search of the fire floor proved negative and no extension was found in the attic space. Engine 181 and Medic 181 were held on deck, Engine 41 and Tower 45 were held in Level 1 staging and released. No injuries occurred and the fire is under investigation.
