On May 8th, 2019 multiple agencies from across Pueblo County participated in the annual Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Plan Exercise. The CSEPP drill took place in the midtown shopping center at 1000 W. 6th St. in Pueblo. The exercise is a full-scale exercise designed to demonstrate community readiness for responding to a chemical incident. The situation includes a hazmat incident, multiple patients, and multiple tasks to overcome. It is evaluated on a federal level to make sure it is being run at its best. Crews from Pueblo Fire Department, Pueblo West Fire Department, Beulah Fire Protection District, Pueblo County Sheriff, Pueblo Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, American Medical Response – Pueblo, and several other local groups participated in the drill.
