South Metro Garage Fire

At 11:39 on January 20th, 2019 South Metro Fire Rescue and Aurora Fire Rescue to a confirmed residential structure fire in the 5400 block of S. Picadilly Ct. at S. Riviera Way in the Saddle Rock Ridge area. Engine 23 arrived on scene to a 2-story duplex with a working garage fire, smoke showing from the alpha side, and pulled an 1 3/4 line in the offensive. Engine 23 initially worked off their own engine’s water, and established their own water supply. Battalion 4 arrived and assumed command in the Alpha-Bravo corner in the offensive strategy, Engine 42 arrived and set-up a secondary water supply, and Tower 45 arrived on the Bravo side. Crews found a truck on fire in the garage, and quickly extinguished the fire. Crews conducting a primary search on the second floor found heavy smoke conditions. Minimal fire extended into the residence, but ventilation was required to remove the smoke. One lizard was safely removed. No injuries were reported and cause is under investigation.
