West Metro Vegetation Fire

At 15:50 on November 9th, 2019 JeffCom alerted West Metro Fire Rescue to a grass fire just east of S. Kipling St. on W. Yale Ave. Rescue 10 arrived to smoke showing with about 3 foot flames spreading and started progressive hose attack. Engine 4 and Brush 4 both pulled their progressive attack lines, and Rescue 10 requested additional brush truck to the scene. District 3 arrived and assumed command, and upgraded the call to a full response. Engine 11 set-up water shuttle with Engine 17 & Rescue 10. Crews got the fire under control after 17:00 and started overhaul on hot spots. The fire burned around one acre, and the cause is under investigation. Additional information was provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
