Wheat Ridge Duplex Fire

At 14:02 on June 4th, 2019 Arvada Fire Protection District with auto-aid from Fairmount Fire Protection District responded to a reported structure fire in the 10600 block of W. 48th Ave. in Wheat Ridge. Jeffcom advised 911 caller reporting light smoke coming from a duplex. Bureau 57 arrived on scene with smoke showing and confirmed a working fire on the Charlie-Delta corner. Battalion 52 arrived to a single-story residential in the offensive strategy, Truck 31 arrived and assigned to make entry on the Charlie side for search rescue and fire control. Rescue 52 arrived and secured a water supply at W. 48th Ave. & Nelson St. and started ventilation. Tower 56 arrived and laddered the Delta side gable to check for extension in the attic. Engine 53 assigned to search the Bravo side unit of the Duplex. The cause of the fire was found in the kitchen area and extinguished quickly with no extension into the attic space. The cause is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
