Arvada Structure Fire

At 04:04 on May 11th, 2020 Arvada Fire Protection District & West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 5400 block of Balsam St. Engine 51 arrived to a single-story structure with a working fire from the exterior of the Charlie side, pulled a 1 3/4 line in for fire attack and search and rescue in the offensive strategy with Medic 51. Engine 16 secured the water supply to Engine 51, and District 1 arrived and assumed command. Medic 16 assigned as medical and Rescue 52 started ventilation. Crews got the fire under control at 04:29 and started overhaul. The building was under construction and vacant at the time of the fire. The cause is under investigation for cause and no injuries were reported. Additional information provided by Arvada Fire Protection District
