Arvada House Fire

At 22:54 on April 17th, 2020 Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire in the 8200 block of W. 70th Ave. at Ammons St.  JeffCom advised several 911 callers reporting smoke and flames visible from the front door, and Arvada police officers on scene reporting house engulfed and all occupants evacuated. Battalion 51 arrived to a single-story small single-family home with a working fire. Engine 53 arrived to flames showing from the Alpha side front door, and pulled a 1 3/4 line for fire attack in the offensive strategy, Engine 51 secured a water supply to Engine 53, and Truck 54 arrived and assigned utilities and ventilation. Engine 55 arrived and pulled a 2nd line off Engine 53 and assigned for search & rescue and fire control with Medic 55, and Medic 54 assigned as medical. Crews got control of the fire quickly and started an extended overhaul. One occupant was evaluated on scene with a non-transport and no other injuries were reported.
