Denver High Rise Fire
At 23:20 on September 8th, 2020 Denver Fire Department was alerted to a reported high rise structure fire in the 1300 block of Gaylord St. Engine 1 arrived to light smoke showing and started the investigation. Chief 4 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side in the offensive strategy. Engine 8 pulled a attack line in with Truck 8. Crews found heavy fire in the basement level, and Rescue 2 assigned to assist with fire attack. Command requested additional truck and engine to the scene. Smoke conditions were found on all floors and evacuations of all residents. Engine 15 pulled a back-up line to the floor above the fire, and Tower 15 and Engine 10 worked on the primary search of the upper floors. Command also requested RTD buses to the scene for the occupants to keep warm. Truck 8, Truck 15, Truck 19 and Tower 1 all put their sticks up for aerial operations for possible rescues. Crews got the fire out and started ventilation and overhaul. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation. Additional information provided by Denver Fire Department
