Denver Structure Fire

At 04:08 on December 24th, 2020 Denver Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on 27 S. Newton St. in Barnum. Engine 20 arrived first on scene confirming smoke in the area from a fully engulfed 15×20 detached garage upon arrival, laying the water supply from Ellsworth Ave. and Newton St. and Engine 23 with the plug to the alleyway behind the residence. Chief 6 arrived and assumed command. Tower 23 completed the primary search to the one-story residence while Truck 12 worked on removing the garage door. Fire was knocked with water through the windows. The cause of the fire was reported from live electrical wires inside the detached garage, and Xcel was notified. No injuries were reported.
