Grand Junction Structure Fire

At 14:26 on February 12th, 2020 Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched to a working residential structure fire in the 500 block of 29 ½ Rd. Grand Junction Regional Communication Center advised 911 callers reporting smoke coming from a trailer home and eventually heavy fire. Engine 2 arrived to find a single wide trailer home with heavy fire showing from multiple sides and well involved. Engine 2 was backed up by Truck 3 who brought in the hydrant from 30 ½ Rd. and E. ½ Rd. Battalion 1 arrived and took transfer of command. A primary search of the residence was negative, but one dog perished in the fire. The fire is under investigation and the structure is a complete loss, no injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation by the GJFD. Mesa County Sheriff assisted with traffic control.
