Lakewood Garage Fire

On April 6th, 2020 around 22:00 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 3000 block of Parfet Dr. in Lakewood. Engine 17 arrived on scene to a working fire from the garage of a one-story single-family residential, and started fire attack on tank water. Medic 17 pulled 1 3/4 line through the front door for fire attack, Tower 2 started primary search and Engine 2 secured the water supply to Engine 17. District 1 arrived and assumed command and assigned Medic 5 as medical group. Crews contained the fire to the garage area, but smoke damage was reported throughout the house. The owners were alerted when their smoke alarms went off inside. There were no injuries and investigators determined that the fire was caused by oily rags, which spontaneously combusted.
