Littleton Garage Fire

At 10:20 on April 19th, 2020 West Metro Fire Rescue was alerted to a reported garage fire in the 5500 block of S. Zang St. in Alkire Acres. JeffCom advised units en-route that 911 caller reporting smoke coming from the garage. Engine 13 arrived to a two-story single-family home with heavy black smoke from the garage, and started fast attack mode with 1 3/4 preconnect in the offensive strategy with Medic 13. Engine 12 established the water supply to Engine 13, Medic 12 started primary search and District 3 arrived and assumed command in the Alpha-Delta corner. The fire was contained to the garage. West Metro investigator determined that the fire was started by a power cord for a small kiln that overheated to the point that it ignited combustibles around the kiln. There were no injuries. The homeowners were there at the time, but were able to get out. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
