At 18:07 on February 7th, 2020 West Metro Fire Rescue responded with auto-aid from Arvada Fire Protection District to a possible structure fire in the 3100 block of Teller St. in Wheat Ridge. JeffCom advised of multiple 911 callers reporting smoke from the attic area. District 1 arrived to a medium size single-family residential structure with a working attic fire from the Charlie-Delta corner. Engine 16 arrived and started fire attack in offensive strategy with Medic 16, and pulled a attack line in and started a primary search. Engine 1 secured a water supply and pulled a second attack line in from Engine 16 for fire attack. Engine 17 arrived and assigned as RIT and Medic 1 as medical group. Crews advised an all clear of the entire structure with the primary search, and the fire was put under control at 18:42. One resident was home at the time of the fire and got out before firefighters arrived. No other injuries were reported. The fire started in the attic, caused by overheated electrical wiring.
