On August 4th, 2021 at 20:39 Arvada Fire Protection District responded in the 4900 block on N. Independence St. for a a possible person in distress in the water. Jeffcom advised that 911 caller reporting that a male was calling for help in the water west of the Garrison Lakes Condos. Battalion 52 hooked up the water rescue trailer at Station 2. Rescue 52 requested the Metro Dive Team to respond to the scene. Battalion 51 arrived and assumed command. Crews searched the lake and found nothing and called off the search before midnight and to start back up the next morning. Crews returned to the lake on August 5th, 2021, and the Colorado Parks & Wildlife used sonar equipment to search the lake, more here: Arvada Water Recovery.
