Bennett Outbuilding Fire
On October 23rd, 2021 at 09:47 Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue and the East I-70 Corridor automatic-aid agencies responded to a outbuilding fire in the 49200 block of E. 64th Ave. Engine 82 arrived to a fully involved outbuilding barn structure and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack to the Delta side in the defensive strategy. Engine 92 arrived and assisted with fire attack and stretched a 2 1/2 to the Charlie side, and Tender 91 supplied with the water supply. Chief 92 arrived and assumed command, and assigned Chief 71 as safety. Brush 82 arrived and started attack on a debris pile that was also on fire next to the structure. Firefighters got the fire extinguished and remained on scene for an extended time working on hot spots. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
