Boulder County Grass Fire

On July 28th, 2021 at 16:53 Boulder County Communications Center (1800) dispatched Hygiene Fire Protection District, Lyons Fire Protection District and Boulder County Fire Management to a reported fire at 5100 Nelson Rd. Command 2861 enroute advised to tone out Lefthand Fire Protection District with smoke in the air. Command 2861 arrived to about 2 acres burned, with 2 to 3 foot flame lengths and moving to the west toward a structure, and requested Mountain View Fire Rescue and Boulder Rural Fire Rescue also to respond to assist. The fire burned several acres by the (NOAA) Table Mountain Test Facility west of Longmont.
