Townhome Rooftop Fire

At 14:37 on September 9th, 2021 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 1900 block of Eaton St. in Lakewood. Jeffcom advised that 911 callers reporting the roof was on fire and unknown if parties were trapped. SAM 1 arrived to a three-story multi-family townhome with a working fire from the roof top patio. Engine 1 established their own water supply and started fire attack with Medic 11. District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha-Bravo corner in the offensive strategy, and assigned Medic 1 as medical group, Tower 2 to ladder the roof with Engine 16 and Tower 8 with primary search. Crews got the fire under control at 15:03 and started overhaul and the investigation. Investigators found the fire was accidental and cause by smoking materials.
