Around 14:30 on April 5th, 2021 Pueblo Fire Department was dispatched to the 1100 block of E. Northern Ave. on a reported wildland fire. Due to the fires location Pueblo Rural Fire Protection District was dispatched as well. The fire was located where 3 fire districts come together. The fire was located by Engine 36 on EVRAZ property and crews began working on access. Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Bureau (ESB) Fire team had a type 6 brush truck on red flag patrol and was near the area and was requested in as extra help. EVRAZ Fire Department also responded in and helped contain the fire. Crews had the fire controlled and mopped up within a half hour and cleared the scene shortly after.
