On July 17th, 2021 at 18:20 West Metro Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 10300 block of Totem Run in Roxborough. Jeffcom advised propane grill on fire, has exploded and fully involved with all the occupants evacuated. South Metro Battalion Chief 1 enroute advised smoke in the air. Engine 15 arrived to a large residential structure with smoke and flames showing, pulled attack line off tank water for fire control to the Bravo side and established their own water supply with Medic 15. Engine 15 updated with a fully involved garage extending into the home, and Engine 19 arrived and pulled a 2 1/2 off Engine 15 for defensive fire control. Battalion Chief 1 arrived and assigned Truck 14 to the Charlie division with South Metro Engine 16. Truck 14 advised of a full structure collapse on the Charlie side and partial collapse on the Bravo side. Several attack lines were in place with crews working heavy fire conditions. Truck 14 started master stream ops, and Medic 13 assigned as medical. Crews got the fire under control at 20:44 and started an extensive overhaul with extreme heat and hot spots. The fire was caused by a faulty propane grill, the leaking propane ignited, setting the deck and then the house on fire. No injuries to the occupants were reported and one firefighter was transported to a local hospital with unknown injurers. The structure is a total loss. Crews continued to work with hotspots and pockets of heat that keep rekindling because of the partial structure collapse through the night and into the next morning. Engine 15, Medic 15, Truck 14 with District Chief 3 responded to a rekindle later in the day of July 18th, 2021 and again the morning of July 19th, 2021.
