Commerce City Grass Fire

At 13:38 on July 4th, 2021 South Adams County Fire Department responded to a reported grass fire at 5495 Dahlia St. in Commerce City. Engine 22 arrived to pallets on fire with limited access, started fire attack with their deck gun, and secured their own water supply at E. 56th Ave. & Dahlia St. Brush 22 started fire attack by the railroad tracks off Dahlia St. with fire also to a railcar. Truck 24 arrived and started master stream ops, with Engine 11 laying in and supplying them with a water supply. Battalion 21 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy, assigned Truck 11 with master stream ops with Engine 22 supplying them with a water supply, and protection on railcar tankers. Truck 14 arrived and also set up master stream ops. Crews worked several hours on hot spots and overhaul. Patients were treated and released on scene, and the fire cause is under investigation.
