Aurora Structure Fire

On May 26, 2021 at approximately 05:40 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at the Town Center of Aurora, 14200 E. Alameda Ave. Crews arrived on scene and found a fire in a building under construction where the old Sears store used to be. Firefighters extinguished the fire quickly and remained on scene about an hour ventilating the building. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The new store, Fieldhouse USA, will be a multi-purpose indoor facility that offers a variety of sporting activities. Other business in the mall did not appear impacted by the fire or the smoke.
