Westminster Apartment Fire

At 14:17 on September 24th, 2021 Westminster Fire Department responded to a reported apartment fire in the 9000 block of Federal Blvd. at the Park Place Apartments. Crews arrived to a three-story apartment complex with heavy fire involving all three floors of the building and extending into the attic, and a second alarm was requested. Crews made entry into the building initially, and Westminster Police Officers worked to evacuate residents. Defensive operations were called at 14:34 due to the volume of heavy fire from all floors, and aerial operations started. A 3rd alarm was requested around 15:00, before crews were able to put the fire under control at 15:28. Crews worked hot spots and overhaul for for several hours. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Southbound Federal Blvd. from W. 92nd Ave. to W. 88th Ave. was closed for an extended time for fire operations.
