114th Avenue Hedges Fire

At 10:47 on September 7th, 2022 North Metro Fire Rescue District Brush 66 and Truck 62 were dispatched for a report of a grass fire at the Highland Way Apartments, 11310 Melody Drive. PD reported an extremely large fire with bushes involved, not threatening structures, with a fence involved and electrical boxes nearby. Truck 62 requested two additional brush trucks based on the update from PD and arrived on scene at Highland Way Apartments with a working hedge fire and three vehicles involved, establishing 114th Command. At 10:55 114th Command reported water on the fire and Engine 66 & Brush 66 arrived in the area and Level 1 Staged. The fire was held to a row of hedges, 3 vehicles, and 1 injury to a resident was reported. The Fire Prevention Bureau of North Metro is investigating the fire.
