Aurora Apartment Fire

On April 6th, 2022 at approximately 00:30 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire at the Conifer Creek Apartments, 2194 S. Racine Way. Firefighters arrived on scene within minutes and found heavy fire on the outside of a multi-family residential structure. Crews were able to extinguish the fire in about twenty minutes. Firefighters were on scene another hour checking for extension, mopping up hot spots and conducting overhaul. No injuries were reported and the American Red Cross was called to assist displaced residents. Prior to the the structure fire, Aurora firefighters responded to approximately nine other suspicious fires in the area that were limited to bushes and trash cans. A 17-year old boy was arrested and charged with arson.
