West Metro Apartment Fire

At 16:23 on February 5th, 2022 West Metro Fire Rescue with auto-aid from Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a possible structure fire in the 6700 block of W. 19th Pl. in Lakewood. Jeffcom reported that Lakewood Police on scene confirming smoke coming out of the west side 2nd floor. Engine 1 arrived to a two-story multi-family structure with working fire, pulled horizontal standpipe to the Charlie side for offensive fire attack and primary search with Medic 1 and Medic 11. Engine 16 arrived and secured the water supply to Engine 1, Engine 3 pulled a 2nd line to the 2nd floor. District 2 arrived and assumed command, assigned Engine 2 and Tower 2 with primary search on the 2nd floor and evacuations. Crews got the fire quickly contained in the fire unit with no extension. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
