South Metro Chimney Fire
At 22:09 on February 5th, 2022 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a multi-family structure fire was reported near W. Berry Ave. and S. Lowell Way in Littleton. Initial callers described visible fire and smoke coming from a chimney in the middle of the multi-unit occupancy. First arriving units pulled attack lines and worked on a primary search and verified that the units had been evacuated. Multiple ladders were set up to support roof crews, as street access was limited. After extinguishing the main fire in the chimney, crews worked on verifying all hot spots were cooled. One unit was damaged and a neighboring unit had minimal damage. After the call, crews discussed their tactics in an incident debrief.
