South Metro Hazmat Response

On October 24th, 2022 at approximately 08:35 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a hazardous materials incident at Parker Adventist Hospital, 9395 Crown Crest Boulevard. Dispatch advised responding units that a corrosive chemical had spilled in the boiler room and that one person reported that their eyes were burning. The department’s hazardous material team and decontamination unit were also dispatched to the scene. Firefighters were on scene about four hours, neutralizing the chemical and decontaminating themselves and their equipment.
