Unattached Building Fire

At 12:18 on February 1st, 2022 AdCom 911 dispatched South Adams County Fire Department to a structure fire compliment from various agencies to an unattached building fire in the 5800 block of Olive St. near Northfield. Callers reported a shed on fire, igniting fast and tripling in size with structures threatened. Engine 21 arrived on scene to a fully-involved shed in the backyard, pulling a cross-lay for primary fire attack and search, and established Olive Command. Engine 22 arrived, Level-1 staged at the hydrant and was requested to pull a second line and stretch in from Oneida for better access. Olive Command reported a trailer in the backyard, fully involved, and requested the alarm be continued. Squad 24 arrived, assisted Engine 21 with a water supply on the Officer’s side with a hydrant 25-feet way, and assisted with operations. At 12:29 Olive Command reported scene stable and requested to pick up the incoming units with the exception of Truck 24 and one ambulance. At 12:38 Olive Command reported fire under control and an ambulance was requested to the scene for a party needing medical attention. Bureau 22 and Bureau 24 returned to service at 13:54 and the scene was left with the property owner. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the South Adams County Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau.
