South Metro Vegetation Fire
On May 6th, 2022 at approximately 13:20 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported utility pole problem in the open space behind 19794 E. Fair Place. The call was quickly changed to a vegetation fire after several citizens reported that grass was on fire around the base of the utility pole. Dispatch advised responding units that the fire was reported to be half the size of a tennis court and moving fairly quick. Crews arrived on scene and found a moderate sized fire in the grass around a utility pole that spread into a nearby debris pile. Firefighters spent about thirty minutes extinguishing the fire and mopping up hot spots. No injuries were reported.
