Strasburg Vegetation Fire

On May 25th, 2022 at 11:46 Strasburg Fire Protection District and Byers Fire Protection District were dispatched to a reported vegetation fire in the area of Hwy. 36 and Comanche Drive in Strasburg. First arriving Brush 81 sized up a small fire in light fuels with a slow rate of spread and assumed Command in on offensive strategy. Swirling winds, multiple fences, and a deep ravine separating the two sides of the fire created some issues, so an additional Brush unit from Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue was requested. Crews were able to contain the fire to 3-4 acres within 20-minutes, with extensive mop-up required.
